PRODUCT CODE: 65555333
Various vintage glass soda syphons, all probably dating from around 1920 - 1940. Originally they would have all had pewter tops but these have been replaced with plastic ones over the years.
We have removed all the tops and given them all a good clean. The tops are secured by a threaded split collar, we'll leave it finger tight in case you want to fill it.
We have filled some with coloured water to show the design a little clearer.
J.H Shardlow & Son, Worksop - Marked British Syphon Co.
Co-Operative Wholesale Society Limited - Marked Mayo Syphons Ltd.
Moorhouse Bros Ltd, Liverpool & Birkenhead - Marked Britsh Syphon Co.
Cambrian Mineral Water Co Ltd, Bolton - No markings
All the glass is in good condition the plastic tops show some wear with some cracks around the collars the lighter plastic is discoloured. To work they need to be filled under pressure and probably have the seals replaced. We had to soak the tops for a couple of days to loosen the threads. Its easy enough to finger tighten them and undoe again. You need to secure the collar onto the bottle and turn the top.
